Newel Lamar Christensen, 50, died July 13, 1977 of a heart attack at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell. He was born September 25, 1926 in Koosharem, Utah, the son of Elmer and Jenny Hatch Christensen. Mr. Christensen married Eris Jensen on March 6, 1946 in Redmond, Utah. He had made his home in Lovell for the past 10 years where he was a plant superintendent for Georgia-Pacific Co. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church and was a veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his widow, Eris; two sons, Roger Lamar of Lovell, and Randy Newel of Worland; one daughter, Mrs. Janice Maroncelly of Billings, Montana; his step-mother, Mrs. Irene Christensen of Koosharem, Utah; one brother, Jack Kyhl of Richfield, Utah; four sisters, Mrs. Blenda Hadden of Gibson, Utah, Mrs. Verus Brown of Orem, Utah, Mrs. Dot Carey of Payson, Utah, and Mrs. Zelda T. Anderson of Koosharem, Utah; 5 grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lovell, Wyoming Stake Chapel with Bishop Ed Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery with military honors.
