Mary Elizabeth Bateman, 64, died at her home near Galesville on February 28, 1927. Funeral services were held at Bethel Church with burial in Mansfield Cemetery. Pall bearers were J. F. Beerbower, Mr. Hoffman and Frank McCorkie, E. B. James, William Moore and Isaac Zeiders.
Mary Elizabeth was born near LeRoy on February 2, 1863 the d/o Pallas and Elizabeth McCoy. In 1884 she married George Benjamin Bateman. To this union was born thirteen children, three dying in infancy. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mae Farthing, Bertha Bidner, and Leslie, all of Mansfield; Anna Neal, LuVerne IA; Martha of Africa; Pallas, Gibson City; Georgia, Daisy, Xantha and Clarence of DeLand; sixteen grandchildren and a host of friends.
