Born July 25, 1849 near Bonaparte and died February 28, 1904. Married Miss Margaret McGaughey on February 13, 1873. Five children: Dr. Ira F. of Hamil, Iowa; Edward B. of Vinita, Iowa; Charles B. of Moline, IL; Mrs. Mary Warner of Bonaparte, IA; I. T. Lizzie of Bonaparte. On December 15, 1885 his wife died. On January 26, 1887 he married to Miss Emma King of Farmington. To this union three children were born: Myrtle; Fern and Harold, the latter dying in early infancy. His second wife died January 26, 1904. He leaves three sons, four daughters, one granddaughter, one sister, Mrs. W. P. L. Muir of Bonaparte and one brother, Hiram Thompson, of Des Moines, IA. Buried in Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte, IA
