Mr. Surface came to the Palm Beach area in 1977, from Dearborn Heights, Mich., after retiring from Sears and Roebuck So. as a salesman. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Catherine M.; two sons, Norman S. Surface of Aurora, Colo. and John L. Lueking, North Palm Beach; a sister, Miss Dorothy Surface of Joplin, Mo. and a brother, John Surface of Phoenix, Ariz; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday April 30 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Curch, 220 W 20th St., Riviera Beach, with Rev. Father Edward Moan as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Thomas L. Price Funeral Home, 553 Northlake Blvd., North Palm Beach, where the recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Palm Beach County; 444 Bunker R., West Palm Beach 33405
