THE REV. FRANK TIBBS

The Rev. Frank M. Tibbs, 82, a resident of Lenoir Memorial Home and a retired Christian minister died Monday at Boone County Hospital.

Mr. Tibbs was born May 6, 1887, at Mt. Sterling, Ill. to Frank M. and Sallie Frances Adams Tibbs. He married the former Sallie Belle Critchfield on Dec. 26, 1911, at Hannibal.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and served churches in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri. When he retired as minister of Oakland Christian church at Joplin in 1954 the Rev. and Mrs. Tibbs moved to Columbia. He served as interim minister at Rocheport and Nelson after moving here.

Survivors are: his wife; three sons, Walter M. Tibbs, Buffalo, Mo.; Oliver P. Tibbs, Gardena, Calif.; Paul E. Tibbs, Sunset Trailer Court; a daughter, Mrs. Tom F. Doyle, Wichita, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker's Chapel, officiated by the Rev. John E. Foster, Centralia.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Parker's Chapel.
