Belle Ackerman Gaskins, 83, widow of Willie Olin Gaskins, died Wednesday, November 10, 1982, in a Charleston nursing center.

Mrs. Gaskins was born, April 17, 1899, in Berkeley County, a daughter of Joseph Ackerman and Sally Morris Ackerman.

She was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was survived by seven sons, Joseph D. Gaskins, Oscar M. Gaskins, Edward Gaskins, and William E. Gaskins, all of Shulerville, Willie T. Gaskins of Huger, Logan Gaskins of Mount Pleasant, and Daniel Gaskins of Wando; three daughters, Evelyn Gaskins of Huger, Ellalee Bradwell of Shulerville, and Edna Port of McClellanville; a brother, Clarence Ackerman of Shulerville; four sisters, Pauline Lewis, Virginia Ackerman, and Annie Haselden, all of Shulerville, and Ivey Cypress of Bonneau; 40 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Saturday, November 13, 1982, in Halfway Creek Cemetery. Burial was directed by Dial Funeral Home of Moncks Corner, SC.
