Billy Ackerman, 71, died Sunday at his residence.

The funeral will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Dial Funeral Home of Moncks Corner.

Mr. Ackerman was born April 29, 1908, in Berkeley County, a son of the late J. T. and Mrs. Sally Morris Ackerman. He was a retired security guard and was a Baptist.

Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Agnes Gaskins Ackerman of Huger; a daughter, Miss Liz Mitchum of Huger; two brothers, Bennie Ackerman of Honey Hill and Clarence Ackerman of Shulerville; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Haselden, Mrs. Pauline Lewis, Mrs. Belle Gaskins, and Miss Virginia Ackerman, all of Shulerville, and Mrs. Iva Cypress of Macedonia.
