Miss Kennedy Passes Away in Local Hospital

After an illness of the past 10 days or more, Miss Cecelia Kennedy, of the Locust avenue extension, passed away at 9:40 o'clock yesterday morning in Fairmont General hospital. She had been in the hospittal [sic] about a week. Miss Kennedy had not been well for some time but had been about the home and out as usual until the recent attack.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Agnes Erwin Kennedy and she was born in Marion county and spent her entire life in this community. The early home of the Kennedys was in Mannington district but they moved to Fairmont a number of years ago and since lived in the present home, Locust avenue extension.

Mary Cecelia Kennedy was the eldest of nine children, six of whom survive.

The four brothers, D. P. Kennedy, Edward P. Kennedy, William M. Kennedy and James J. Kennedy, reside here, and there are two sisters, Mrs. W. F. Burke, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. F. B. McCudden, of Ann Arbor, Mich. Several nieces and nephews survive.

A sister, Mrs. Ellen Purcell, and brother, Joseph S. Kennedy, are deceased.

Miss Kennedy was a devout member of St. Peter's Catholic church and was an excellent woman with a kind and gentle manner. Her chief interests were in the home circle and she devoted much time to the care and welfare of those about her.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning in St. Peter's church with the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Martin J. Egan to officiate.

The body is in the Ross funeral home, Fairmont avenue, and will be there until the time for the services. Burial will be made in Holy Cross cemetery.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.
