William Guthrie was born in Durham Co, England. Lived in Scotland and emegrated from Ireland to Liverpool, England June 1888 to the ship 'The Lord Gough' to PA Sept 1888. He was a violist in an Orchestra in Missouri when he met and married a German immigrant, Anna Collett in 1893. He lived in MO until about 1899 when he moved to Roslyn, WA where Annas brother Matt Collett was mining coal. They moved to Seattle by 1910 and lived there until 1941. He is buried in the Mt View Cemetery, though his death certif says a different cemetery. Wife Anna died May 1933 in So Seattle, called Angle Lake, the home of their son William Guthrie.

"Wm. Guthrie, 67, Called by Death
William Guthrie, 67, passed away here Monday (d 28 April 1941) evening. The remains are at the McDonald Funeral Home and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Mr Guthrie had lived in Port Angeles since last October. He was born September 30, 1865, in Durham County, England and came to the United States in 1888, landing in Philadelphia. He was married in Missouri June 17, 1892, to Anna Collett.
Mr Guthrie was a clerk by trade. surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs (Leona) Jack Ely, Port Angeles, and Miss Margaret Guthrie, Seattle and four sons; Clarence, Frank, and Lester of Seattle, and Matt Guthrie, whose address is unknown."
