Duane is the son of David Barton Mowrey and Bessie Estella (Holmes) Mowrey. He married Evelyn May Brazelton March 16, 1941.
Duane was living in Cottage Grove, Lane County, Oregon, at the time of his death. For a number of years he was quite ill and made trips to Portland V.A. Hospital for treatments. He died at the V.A. Hospital. The funeral was held at Lincoln Willamette Funeral Home in Portland and he was buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
