Darrell Hanklns, 51, R.R. 1, Rushville, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Feb. 26, 1992, in St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born April 23, 1940 in Milroy, he was the son of Francis and Eva (Patterson) Hankins. He married Janice Mozingo in 1967. She survives. He had lived his entire life in Rush County. He was a lifetime member of the Rushville VFW Post 1541 and a member of the Teamster Union 135. He had worked for Wonder Bread as a truck driver with Hostess Cake for 15 years until his retirement in 1982.

Surviving besides his wife is one son: Bill, Rushville; two sisters: Mrs. Robert (Patty) Babbs, Gleiiwood, Mrs. Jerry (Vickl) Taylor, Rushville; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Moster and Cox Mortuary In Rushville with the Rev. Kenneth Bates officiating. Burial is at Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
