Dr. Thomas B. Pote, St. Louis, a native of Harmony township, died in his sleep on March 31 at the age of 92 years, friends and relatives in New harmony have been advised. He was the son of Henry and Nancy Bailey Pote and was born on a farm near New Harmony. In 1895, he married Mamie Wiley, daughter of Lytle and Louisa Wiley. Mrs. Pote died in 1943. Surviving Dr. Pote are two sons, Horace W., a retired Army Air Force officer residing on Long Island, N.Y., and Robert Clifford an engineer with Glendale Airplane Co. in California. There are also five grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Dr. Pote's funeral and burial plans had been made well in advance of his demise. His body was cremated and the ashes will be interred in Maple Hill cemetery at New Harmony by his wife's grave with no funeral eulogy or flowers.
