Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, at Frick Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine, Iowa.
Dorothy Agnes Klahn was born June 10, 1911, in Durant, the daughter of Edward and Dorothea (Paustian) Klahn. She grew up in Durant and attended school in Durant. She married Dean Hartzel Ellsworth on May 29, 1935, in Stanwood. She was employed at McKillips Quality Store and with Schneckloth Lumber Company in Durant, until she retired. Dean preceded her in death on March 26, 1966. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Arland) Brown of Muscatine and Beverly (Dean) Ellsworth of Durant; one son, Edward (Margaret) Ellsworth of Wilton; five grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Henry) Ormsby of Stanwood and Irma (Ronald) Greenwald of Solon; and two brothers, Elmer (Dorothy) Klahn of Southhold, NY, and Ralph (Bernice) Klahn of Durant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Orville Klahn in infancy and one sister-in-law, Edna Klahn.
