Greer, SC - Monday, Oct. 17, 1938 - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Ballenger Clement, 72, whod died Sunday, Oct. 16, 1938, at Patton Memorial Hospital, Hendersonville, NC, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1938, at 2 o'clock at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. W. Y. Henderson officiating. Interment was in the family plot in the church cemetery. Mrs. Clement was the widow of G. C. Clement. She was a native of the Holly Springs Community, upper Spartanburg County, South Carolina and the daughter of the late Peyton Ballenger and Carolina Goodlett Ballenger. Before movint to Hendersonville, NC, where she had resided for the last 20 years,. She was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church, Spartanburg County, SC. Survivors included: three sisters, Mrs. H. P. Wheeler, Welford, SC, Mrs. G. C. Foster, Inman, SC, and Mrs. J. D. Lanford, Greenville, SC.
