Alice was born Alice Myrtle Clement on September 19, 1913 in Dugdale, MN, to the late Andrew and Florence (Camp) Clement. On January 26, 1931, she was united in marriage to Walter E. Peppin at Dorothy, MN. The couple farmed near Dorothy, MN, and together raised two sons, Duane and Rene. In addition to farming, Alice was also employed at Woolworth's in Crookston until retirement. In 1976 Alice and Walter left their farm and moved into Crookston. They enjoyed spending many winters traveling to Arizona and Texas. Sadly, Walter passed away on May 24, 1983. Alice was able to continue traveling with her many friends from the Golden Link Senior Citizen Center. She was a longtime member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish. Alice will always be remembered for her sunny disposition and her laugh. Her nickname was "Sweet Alice".

Alice M. Peppin, 97, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2010, in the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter; both sons, Duane and Rene; a sister, Pearl; and brothers, Edward, Edwin, William and Leo. Alice is survived by her sister, Madeline Warnecke of Helendale, CA; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Peppin of Grand Forks, ND; and 6 grandchildren, Craig Peppin of West Hollywood, CA, Bruce Peppin of Anaheim Hills, CA, Cynthia Chase of Hillsborough, CA, Michael Peppin of Grand Rapids, MN, Bryant Peppin of Prior Lake, MN and Celeste Skaar of Minneapolis, MN; as well as, several great-grandchildren. May God bless the memory of Alice M. Peppin.

Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Peppin will be celebrated in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2010, with The Very Rev. Bob Schreiner, presiding. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service and interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Crookston.
