Helen Adam Furner, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home on June 26, 2009.

Helen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 12, 1932 to Melville L. Adam and Amy Colmer Adam.

She was a proud alumnus of South High School, where she met and fell in love with her eternal sweetheart, Lee Grant Furner. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple and enjoyed a fairytale marriage for nearly 50 years. They have four children, Lisa (Dave) Fairbrother, Dan (Susan) Furner, Tim Furner, Cathy (Tyler) Baron.

Helen worked as a medical office assistant beginning at the age of 16. She worked for Dr. Pugmire, Dr. John Robinson, Dr. Gerald Snarr, and retired from the Western OB & GYN Clinic after 25 years of service. She thought of her associates at Western as "family."

Helen served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but her favorite calling was that of Young Women Laurel Advisor - a calling in which she served for 13 years. She created her home to be a "Gathering Place" where friends and family always felt welcomed and loved.

Helen is survived by her four children and 16 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Grant Furner, her parents, and her brother, Melville Adam.
