Services were held Tuesday at the Immanuel Luthern Church in Harlan for Rudolph Wigness, 49, who died Saturday in Myrtue Hospital. He had been in ill heath for some time.
He was a former partner in Wigness Machine Shop and prominent in business activities in Harlan. He was a member of the city council for several terms. He had been an active member of the Harlan city band since he was 15 years old, and was it's president for many years. He was a member of Parian Lodge, Olivet Chapter, Mt. Zion Commandery, Adelphia Council of Harlan and of the Shrine Temple of Sioux City.
In addition to his wife, Evalyn, he is survived by his son Robert of Clear Lake, Iowa; daughter Mary, a student at Dana college; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Wigness of Harlan; a sister Marie, Mrs. Elmer Rehder of Cedar Rapids; brother Clifford of Harlan.
Burial was in Harlan cemetery, with Pauley Funeral Home in charge.
