Mrs. Katie Eichelberger Bell died at the King's Daughters' Hospital about 8:30 o'clock Monday evening after an illness of a few days. The funeral will take place today afternoon at 5 o'clock, the service to be at Trinity church, of which Mrs. Bell was a faithful communicant, conducted by the rector Rev. W.Q. Hullihen and the interment will be in Thornrose cemetery. The bearers will be:
Active -- Messrs. H.M. Smith, J.H. Worthington, E.J. Cushing, W.W. King, and Drs. George A. Sprinkel, J.B. Catlett, Thos. M. Parkins, and Kenneth Bradford. Honorary -- Messrs. A.W. Blackley, R.E.R. Nelson, Col. T.J. Roller, Maj. C.S. Roller, Judge H.W. Holt, and Messrs. J.L. Witz, H.F. Scheele, McChesney Yarbrough and Thos. M. Atkinson.
Mrs. Bell was a native of Staunton, daughter of Mrs. Susan Baylor Eichelberger, and the late Dr. H. Samuel Eichelberger. On November 11, 1903, she was married to Mr. Frank W. Bell of this city, who survives her, as do also her mother and three brothers -- Messrs. H.G. Eichelberger of Norfolk, H.L., of Lexington, and Dr. C.P. Eichelberger of Staunton. She was educated at the Mary Baldwin Seminary in a class containing many other Staunton girls, who formed a group of charming young women, noted for possessing all the graces of true womanhood, and throughout life she remained true to these high principles. Her death brought a pall of sadness to a large circle of friends and relatives.
