Aaron who enlisted at Cario, Illinos and served on the U.S.S. Judge Torrance (barge) as
a 1st class pilot. His service started on September 1, 1863 "from which he contracted
a disability from which he died at New Albany, on 29 July 1871."

30, 1863. Transfered to Payson Dunn(?) whose rolls were destroyed by fire, no further record.

...that the sailor served as pilot only from Sept. 1 to Nov. 21, 1863-less than 90 days
-which would not entitle you under the aforesaid Act, given if the service as a pilot
was pensionable.
