Funeral services for James Richard Burks, 73, who died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at his residence in Moulton, following a heart attack will be held at Smyrna. The funeral cortege will leave the residence at 1:30 p.m. Friday for Smyrna where services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. H.E. Patton. Interment will follow in the Smyrna cemetery, Brown directing.
Mr. Burks, a prominent farmer of Lawrence County, is survived by his wife; two daughters, Miss Mattie B. Burks of Illinois; Mrs. Irene Black, Decatur; three sons, J.R. Burks, Moulton; Preuitt Burks, Moulton 2; Prince Burks, Decatur; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
