" Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Hagi funeral home for Lester W. Schultze, 80, Peroria, formerly of Ransom. He succumbed at 8:30 p.m. Aug 13, in the Peoria Methodist hospital. He had been in ill health the past six months.

Rev. James Mort, assistant pastor of the Central Church of Christ, officiated at the rites. Burial was made in the Allen Cemetery, Ransom.

Attending the services were relatives and friends from Madison, Wis., Normal, Marseilles, Grand Ridge, Ottawa, Ransom and Streator.

Mr. Schultze was born in Ransom, Jan. 8, 1893, son of John and Louisa (Baker) Schultze. He married Helen Hagi in 1918. She succumbed in 1923. In 1925, he married Bertha Wilkinson. She succumbed in 1959.

A retired farmer, he resided in Ransom and then in Peoria, the latter city being his home for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Methodist church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

Surviving are three children, Luella Schultze, Normal; William Schultze, Madison, Wis.; Irma Christophersen, Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren.
