MRS. CYNTHIA M. GOSNELL
LANDRUM, Jan 25 - Mrs. Cynthia M. Gosnell, 66, died at 3:30 o'clock this morning at her home at Chesnee, Route 1, following an illness of one week.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Arledge Morris and a member of the Sandy Springs Baptist Church in Polk County, N.C.
Surviving are her husband, J.W. Gosnell, Chesnee; two sons, A.J. Gosnell, Campobello, L.G. Gosnell, Chesnee; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Strickland, Cowpens, Mrs. Mildred Edwards, Landrum, Mrs. Elsie Gosnell, Inman,and Miss Ruth Gosnell; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. J.F. Cantrell and Mrs. E.H. Emory of Chesnee, and one half-brother, J.A. Morris, Spartanburg.
Funeral rites will be held from Sandy Springs Baptist Church in Polk County Friday at 2 p.m., with Rev. O.B. Lancaster and Rev. A.T. Howard officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers: F.M. and Silas Cantrell, Claude and Hollis Emory, Paul Morris and J.R. Atkins.
Honorary escort: J.R. and G.G. Gilbert, J.H. Cooper, J.R. Robbins, W.P. McKinney, L.V. Turner, V.F. and A.W. Cooley, D.C., H.E. and M.V. Jolley.
Flower girls: Ruby Powers, Mary Cooper, Janette Emory, Eunice Strickland, Mary Lee Rush and Evelyn Cooley.
The body will be carried to the home at 9 a.m. Friday.
