He was the son of Peter and Catherine LeFevre. He married Susanna Bowman. He purchased a 315 acre farm in Union Township, Adams County, PA in 1819. It has been reported that he paid cash for his land with silver dollars he brougt in kegs by wagon from Lancaster Co., PA. He built a house at the corner of the Littlestown-Hanover highway and the Christ Church Road. They had nine children: Benjamin, Elizabeth Keeports, Joseph, Susanna Zook, Isaac, Catherine Swope, Lydia Heller, Amos and Enoch.
