Granville Brown was the third child of Lilly (Young) and Noah Brown of Campbell County, Tennessee and Wayne Co., Kentucky. He married twice. His first wife was Martha _________, born about 1836 in Tennessee, They had children named Noah (born about 1858 in Alabama) and John G. (born about 1859 in Dade Co., Georgia) By the 1870 census he had married Susan Catherine Burnett (Find-A-Grave #38873285) and together they reared a large family. Their children included: Winnie Ida J., Altha, Mary K, Alma, Maud, Azzie (female), and Robert G. Brown.
