Pearl Rodden Services for Pearl Othella Parks Rodden , 91 , longtime Kilgore resident , were today , May 23 , 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore Cemetery.

Mrs. Rodden died Saturday , May 19 , 2001 in Longview. She was born April 15 , 1910 in Macomb , Okla.. She attended Sasakwa , Okla. public schools where she became an All State High School Basketball Player. She then attended East Central Oklahoma State Teachers College in Ada , Okla.. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to intermediate girls for over 30 years. During WWII she worked as a foreman for the Douglas Aircraft Manufacturing Company. She is survived by two sisters , her daughter-in-law , and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Joe Rodden , III and her husband Joe Rodden , Jr.. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church , 501 East North Street , Kilgore , Texas 75662. +++
