Roy L. Parks

Roy L. Parks, 89, died Friday at his Seaside residence after a brief illness.
Born Feb. 21, 1897, in Los Alamitos, Mr. Parks was a barber in Oklahoma for a time before returning to California in 1940. He lived in Pacific Grove from 1940 to 1959, when he moved to Seaside.
A civilian employee at Fort Ord for 25 years. Mr. Parks was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church for 56 years, serving at various times as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
He is survived by a daughter, Eunice A. Willey of Seaside; a brother, Joe Parks of Ada, Okla.; four sisters, Emma Chambers of Shreveport, La.; Susie Barnes of Longview, Tex.; Pearl Rodden of Kilgore, Tex., and Stella Perry of San Antonio, Tex.; two grand¬children and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Chapel of Seaside on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. Services will be held there Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mission Memorial Park.
