In 1899 John E., Central Avenue meat and grocery man, put in a sausage machine run by horse power.

January 19, 1889 was the wedding for John and Johanna. Rev. Gust of Edgren officiated the marriage in Norway, Dickinson, Michigan for the son of A.A. Anderson and the daughter of Andrew G. and Anna Person. Attendants were Jacob and Sofia Johnson of Norway, Michigan. Johanna was a servant and John a clerk. They were both 20.

JOHN ANDERSONS OBSERVE THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Anderson, pioneer residents of Norway, yesterday overserved the golden jubilee of their marriage, at their home on Brown Street. They were wedded at the home ceremony in “old Norway” on Jan. 19, 1889 and have resided here since.
The former Johanna Gustafson, is herself a member of a family of Norway pioneers. Both of the Andersons are 70 years old and in good health. Mr. Anderson is still active in the business he founded with his sons, Anderson Motor Co.
Joining in their celebration were their 5 sons and families: Mr. and Mrs. Einar Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Enfred Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Anderson, Norway; Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Anderson, Iron Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Ivar Anderson, Milwaukee.
Also their brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Anderson.

John E., the son of Andrew Adolphus and Ulrica (Person) Anderson, was born Nov. 19, 1868 in Grangarde, Dalarna, Sweden. He arrived in Norway, Dickinson, Michigan in 1888 at the age of 19 years. He was employed as a clerk for 3 years.
Johanna (Gustavson), daughter of Gustav and Anna Person, was born Oct. 19, 1868, in Sunnasjo, Dalarna, Sweden.
John E and Johanna married Jan 1889 in Norway, Michigan. They formed a partnership and ran a mercantile business. John sold his partnership and established a meat market with his brother Gust. A new building was built in 1897 on the corner of Nelson Street and Central Avenue. They purchased farm land and platted it into residential lots. Acquired a dealership for EMF automobile in area, obtained a Chevrolet franchise in Norway in 1918. Operated Anderson Motor Company in Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan, for almost 50 years; developed Spring Valley Farm, a model farm in Dickinson County.
John and Johanna were members of the Swedish Mission Church.
John died Nov 17, 1939 and Johanna Jan 26, 1952, both in Norway and are buried in the township cemetery.

Edith B: Aug 11, 1889 – June 22, 1891, Norway, Michigan.
Einar H: born on July 12, 1891, in Norway; married Ruth Stanburg in Kenosha, Wisconsin; died Jan 6, 1967 in Norway.
Iver E: born Nov 2, 1895 in Norway; married Alice Never; died June 13, 1942 in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin.
Enfred W: born April 30, 1897, married Muriel Trethway and died Aug. 8, 1964 in Norway.
Reuben H, born Nov. 11, 1901 and married Agnes Erickson in Norway. Died May 19, 1984 in Sun City, Arizona.
Arvid J: born April 17, 1904, married Alice Donovan and died April 11, 1970, in Norway.
