Josephine Rebecca, daughter of Aden and Jennie Fisher Schrum, was born in Chariton Sept. 12, 1905 and passed away Nov. 14, 1991 at her home in Chariton. She was married to Charles Phillips August 5, 1923 and they became the parents of six children: Corliss, Helen, Rex, Clifford, Bennie and Linda. After Charlie's death in 1967, Josephine married Dick Clark in 1968, living in Davenport until his death in 1978 when she made her home with her daughter, Helen.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Corliss Amos; son, Bennie in infancy; granddaughter, Dawn Lynn Phillips in infancy; sisters, Belle Conner and Jessie Keller; and brothers, Orie, Tommy and twin brothers in infancy.

She is survived by a sister, Daisy Schrum of Mount Ayr; her children, Helen Crouch, Rex and wife Barbara and Clifford, all of Chariton and Linda and husband Dick Hobbs of Memphis, Tenn.

She also leaves sixteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson plus several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton, The service was conducted by Reverent Dennis St. Lawrence. Casketbearers were grandsons, Jeff Hobbs, Tom Phillips, Clayel Phillips, Jack Crouch, Paul Crouch and Phil Crouch. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery.
