On Jul 27, 1938, in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan, Leona married John Edward Bradley, Sr., born in Pennsylvania (1910-1989). The couple settled in Detroit, Michigan, and had three children - John, Patricia, and Sharron. After John and Leona divorced about 1949, Leona married again on Aug 27, 1951, to widower Aloysius Joseph Jarvis (1907-1973) who had six children from his previous marriage. Leona and Al had three more children - Deborah, and twin boys, Ronald and Donald, who died in infancy in 1958.
At retirement, Al, Leona, and daughter Deborah, moved to Corona, California. Leona was an extremely talented artist, especially in oils. She was outgoing, cared deeply what others felt, remembered everyone's birthday, sewed beautifully, and kept in touch with all her stepchildren and step grandchildren who remained in Michigan.
Leona died April 23, 1988, in the Circle City Hospital in Corona, California. Her immediate surviving family members at the time of her death were her son John, and three daughters: Pat, Sharron, and Deborah; her brother Leonard and her sisters Alice, Helen and Carolyn; and three grandsons - Chad, Travis, and Andrew. There were also several nieces, nephews from her side of the family, and stepchildren and step grandchildren on the Jarvis family side. Leona requested cremation and her urn buried next to Aloysius Jarvis in the Sunnyslope Cemetery.
