"Charles WATTS, son of Mary Elizabeth AMOS and Thomas Z. WATTS.
Grandson of Lucinda JONES and Charles AMOS and Mary Ann JONES and John WATTS. Great grandson of Betsy LAW and Greenberry WATTS of Washington, Pittsylvania, Virginia.

In 1888 in Hamblen County, Tennessee Charles's parents married.
In 1900 his parents and older siblings are found living in Hamblen County, TN.
On the 1910 census, Charles, age 2 is found living with his parents in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Then back in Hamblen County in 1920. By 1930 the family had moved to Iowa where in 1932 his father Tom died. His mother Mary returned to live in Morristown, Hamblen County, Tennessee where she died in 1936 and is buried there near her sister-in-law Cordie WATTS Jenkins. Charles's brother Clarence D. WATTS was Informant for both Death Certificates.
On April 26, 1931 in Iowa, Charles, age 24, married Dorothy CAMPBELL. She was 20 years of age, daughter of Mellissa EPPERSON and Evert CAMPBELL.
