Dorothy was born in Coryell County, Texas, near Mother Neff State Park, to the late Loyd and Dollie Howe. She married Elton (Red) Edwards on Jan 22, 1939, and they made their home in Gatesville. Dorothy served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a surgical technician and was always proud that she served our country. Dorothy also owned and operated Casual Fashion, a dress shop in Gatesville, for a number of years. In 2003, she moved to Greenview Manor in Waco, where she received excellent care by the staff that she grew to love.
She is preceded in death by her husband; son, David Paul Edwards; sisters, Willie Ruth Guthrie and Dauththula Walker; and brothers, Loyd Howe Jr. and Joe Howe.
Dorothy is survived by her grandsons, Joshua Ryan Edwards and Justin Britt Edwards; sisters, Jeneva Kattner and Jeneta Young, both of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.
