Robert L. Sholly
Robert L. Sholly, 60, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Stephanie A. Fincher Sholly with whom he would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on November 18, 2009.
He was born in Columbia, son of the late Arthur W. and Mildred Wile Sholly. He worked as a pipe welder and an auctioneer. He was a member of Ironville United Methodist Church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the mountains, the Philadelphia Phillies, collecting antiques, his family, and his two dogs.
Surviving in addition to his wife, three daughters: Bobbie Jo wife of Gary Weber, Mountville; Brandi Nikolaus companion of James Millhouse, Sr. and Barbie wife of Shawn Helton, all of Wrightsville. Twelve grandchildren: Erin, Abby and Cory Miller; Nathaniel Nikolaus; Peyton, James III, Baily and Ethan Millhouse; Madison and Shawn Helton; Courtney and Ryan Weber. Six brothers and sisters: Shirley wife of Eugene Graybill, Columbia; Nancy wife of Dean Dunlap, Marietta; Leo husband of Grace Sholly, Columbia; Jackie wife of Raymond Odenwalt, Elizabethtown; Fay wife of Ray Griffith, Columbia and William husband of Dawn Sholly, Columbia. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia, on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Charles A. Deutsch, officiating. Interment in Silver Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc. from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
