Born July 18, 1920, she was a daughter of the late William Elza Hugon and the late Elmo Lenore Bowman Hugon.
Mrs. Dobbins was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. She was a 1939 graduate of Central College for Women. She was also graduated from Centenary College in Shrevepert, LA. with a degree in Home Economics.
She married Roy Heaton Dobbins on February 26, 1946, in Pine Bluff, AR.
Mrs. Dobbins taught school in Dumas, Rison, and Pine Bluff. She worked as a dietitian at Davis Hospitlal, then returned to the classroom for the rest of her career, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, Life member of United Methodist Women, fifty year member of the Union Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of Beta Zeta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and a past president and member of the Jefferson County Retired Teacher's Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Martha D. Ross, a grandson, Don H. Ross, Jr., and her husband.
Survivors include her son, Bill Dobbins, and daughter, Julie Dobbins of Pine Bluff and a granddaughter, Lou Ross of Little Rock.
The funeral service were July 16, 2007, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
