Wife of John Davis
Sallie Davis, 73, died at the family home in Dallas following a brief illness. Her remains were brought to Center and interment was in the Campti cemetery, in the vicinity of where the family had lived many years. John Davis was buried in this cemetery in 1911. Survivors included her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Thomason of Center; and children: John Davis of Center, Porter Davis of California, Dan Davis of Nolan Co, TX, and George and Leonard Davis of Dallas. "The death of Mrs. Davis leaves only one member of the well known Elliott family of Nacogdoches county, and that is Mrs. Elizabeth Thomason of Center."
