Grant McQueen, 78, Dies Here Sunday; Funeral Tuesday
Grant McQueen died Sunday, July 22, at 3:40 pm at the Murphy Memorial Hospital, of internal hemorrhages. He had not been well for some time, and seriously ill for less than a week.
Born August 25, 1866, at Woodhall (sic), Ill., he was the son of Erastus and Delia (sic) McQueen. On December 22, 1892, he was married to Minnie May Allen here at Red Oak...
Grant McQueen came to Iowa from Illinois in 1892, when he was about 16. He operated a restaurant here for many years; later he was janitor of Washington school, returning here in 1912. he also worked at Westerlund's cigar store.
Funeral services for Mr. McQueen, in charge of Perryman's funeral home, will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, where Mr. McQueen was closely affiliated...
Mr. McQueen will be interred in the Evergreen Cemetery.
