MRS. MARY GEDDES DIES AT SON'S HOME

Lived Where Wabash Shops Now Stand

Mrs Mary J. Geddes, one of the old
residents of Macon county, died
Tuesday morning at the home of her
son,Len Geddes on the Boiling Springs
road. She was eighty one years old.
Her maiden name was Burnett and
her family resided in the old Burnett
home on the old Springfield road north
of Boody for many years.
She was born in Meade county, Ky.
Sept.21, 1831. The family came to Macon county in the early
and on Jan 19, 1848 she was married in the
old home north of Boody (to James Geddes)
For forty years she resided in the old Geddes home east of the city on Geddes lane where the Wabash shops now stand.
HAD ELEVEN CHILDREN
She was the mother of eleven children
three of whom Robert, Elmira
and Leanna died when young. The
remaining children are George Geddes
of Humboldt, Kan. James Geddes of
Macon, John Geddes, Len R. Geddes and Mrs Hattie ? of Decatur, Frederick
Geddes of Jacksonville and Horatio
Geddes, who lives in Idaho. She also
leaves a brother in Humboldt, Kan. Mrs. Geddes was a devout
member of the Grace Methodist church.
Funeral arrangements await word
from distant relatives. The Interment
will be in the Brush College cemetery.
