Wilma was born April 13, 1917 to parents Will E. and Mamie Boothe Sassman. Her loving husband, was Jess McAngus to whom she was married for 57 years preceded her in death as did her sister Hazel Hyden, and her brother Dudley Sassman.

She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas. She was a school teacher and later a medical technician, working last for Dr. O. Jackson. She was an avid sports enthusiast participating in softball. She enjoyed attending the UT Lady Longhorn basketball and softball games with her friends and was a season ticket holder for many years.

She is survived by her son, Jess McAngus of Austin and his wife Debbie Griffith McAngus of San Antonio, grandchildren, Amy McAngus, Jody McAngus both of Houston, Carrie McAngus Morin and her husband, Travis Morin also from Houston, and their son Brooks Remington Morin,Wilma's great-grandson.

Wilma was an active member of the Southwest Church of Christ, regularly attending each service and was active in the church and loved by all. Some of her fondest memories were finally learning how to snow ski at age 68, riding horseback on a Mexican beach, snorkeling in the Caribbean, and watching whales off Alaska all after she was 80. Interment at Forest Oaks Cemetery.
