MRS. ALBERT JENKINS
Malissa Bougher was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, March 10, 1862 and departed this life January 17, 1930 at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bougher and her early childhood was spent near Lovilia, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Wm. Allen Morford on March 5, 1882. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Elma Prather, of Des Moines; Mrs. Lena Spencer, of Corona, California; and Harvey, who preceded her in death in 1916. The husband and father passed away the following year.
The deceased united with the M. E. church early in life and her associations with friends and those in the home were characteristic of the loyalty and faithfulness for those she loved. Ever a loving mother and grandmother, strong in her convictions for right and wrong.
In the fall of 1922 whe was united in marriage to Albert Francis Jenkins and with the exception of one year spent in California, they had made their home in Russell until October 1, 1929, when they purchased a home in Chariton near his children and where they have since resided.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, two daughters, eight grandchildren, and many friends and neighbors who will learn of her demise with the deepest regret and sorrow.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Russell on Monday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Archie Beals with Revs. Thom and Secor assisting. Interment was made in the Russell cemetery.
