Samuel Hopkins Buried

Samuel Hopkins once a Federal court clerk, was yesterday afternoon in the city followed to his grave by a large number, for a stranger of sympathizing friends. He came South several weeks since, seeking to benefit his disease, consumption. The change appeared to have caused developments for the worse and while his death owing to complications, was painful and lingering, he possessed a fortitude and intelligence under sore adversity which was remarkable. His end was that of a true Christian, in the veriest sense.
