Louise Augusta Boettner was born on July 1, 1881, to Justus William Boettner and Christina Catharina Oberender.
She married to Jacob Grayson Smith (later called Grayson W. Smith) in Manhattan, New York, New York, on 24 March 1900; and they had three children: Howard Hampton Smith, Paul Grayson Smith, and Alice Louise Smith.
After she and Grayson separated (but never divorced), she raised the three children by herself in an old big white house in Haddon Heights, NJ, that dated back to the 1700's. At one point, she and the three teens operated a "tea room" and restaurant in the big house.
After her children were grown and married, she continued to live on in the big house with her married daughter, Alice Smith Brown and her husband David Brown.
She died on April 19, 1976.
Louise was my husband's paternal Grandmother.
