Rudy was the the son of Menno & Amanda (Hochstetler) Anderson. He attended Mount Ayr schools and had been a resident of Kentland and Jasper County since 1953.
He married Evelyn Schultz on Oct 29, 1949, in Rensselaer. He farmed most of his life.
He was a member of St Luke Lutheran Church and a World War II Army veteran. He servied as a range operator with A-Battery 753AAA gun Anti-aircraft Gun Battalion. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Army of Occupation Medal, Japan Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle M1.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Carla) Anderson & Stephen Anderson, both of Rensselaer; six sisters, Rosa Lohr of Kentland, Emma Yoder of Mendon, MI, Clara Hochstetler, Sarah Hershberger, Millie Miller and Tillie (Robert) Shank all of Goshen; a brother, Andrew (Marilyn) Anderson of Kouts; and a special friend Helen Hitchcock of Lafayette.
Also surviving are two grandsons, Matthew (Shannon) Anderson of Rensselaer and Chad Anderson of Rucson,AZ; One Granddaughter, Andrea (Aaron)Page of Monon; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Madison Anderson and a brother-in-law, Earl (Louise) Schultz of Winamac.
A brother Henry Anderson, and a sister, Fannie Kauffman, peceded him in death.
