Surviving are two daughters, Martha (David) Cross of Goshen, Rosemary (Delbert) Bontrager of Ligonier; four sons, Melvin (Carol) Hochstetler of Elkhart, Harvey (Carolyn) Hochstetler of Pickle Lake, Ontario, Canada, Alvin (Ruth) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, OH, Henry (Caroline) Hochstetler of Ponder, TX; 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren with two more on the way; two sisters, Rosa Lohr of Kentland and Millie Shank of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Ivan Hochstetler, one infant grandson, five sisters, Emma Yoder, Sarah Harshberger, Fannie Kauffman, Millie Miller, Katie Anderson, three brothers, Henry, Rudy and Andy Anderson.
Clara was a prayer warrior, praying daily especially for each of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Woodlawn Mennonite Church, enjoyed traveling, making quilts, gardening, reading her Bible and spending time with her family.
Visitation was from 2:00 - 5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday February 10, 2018 at Woodlawn Mennonite Church, 62861 CR 41 Goshen. Funeral services were at 2:00 pm Sunday February 11, 2018, also at Woodlawn Mennonite Church. Services were conducted by the Woodlawn Ministry Team. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Goshen.
