He graduated from Ellis High School, the University of Kansas and Fort Hays State University. He was a computer technician with Farmland Industries until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Younger, of the home; four sons, Jerome, Lawrence, Jason, Winfield, Luke, Kansas City, and Patrick, Hays; three daughters, Jodie Weir, Winfield, Christi Younger, Wichita, and Jill Kelley, Kansas City; three sisters, Maynetta Daily and Betty Herl, both of Ellis, and Judy Smith, Chapman; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Schoenthaler.
Services were Oct. 24 at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, Gladstone, Mo. Graveside services were Oct. 26 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials are suggested to Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 N.E. 72nd, Gladstone, MO 64118.
