Eva Myrtle (Norman) Kramer Schepler, passed away August 8, 2007 in Holdrege, Nebraska. Eva was born October 6, 1914 on the family farm southeast of Ragan in Harlan County, the fifth of seven children of John S. and Iva Mae (Howell) Norman.

Eva was baptized at an early age and received her education at Ragan, graduating from Ragan High School with the class of 1933. On February 14, 1934 she was united in marriage to Adolph Herman Kramer at Minden, Nebraska and to this union three children were born: John Paul, Mary Nadine and Roger Eldo. The couple made their home on a farm five miles south of Wilcox, Nebraska. In 1937, they moved to a farm northwest of Ragan, where they continued to engage in farming and milking cows. Eva worked side-by-side with Adolph assisting with the tractor driving, harvest and daily cattle chores.

Adolph and Eva joined the Ragan United Methodist Church on May 2, 1943. She served as the church pianist for many years. Eva was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, where she served as president several terms and also served as president of the United Methodist Women. She and Adolph enjoyed playing cards, dancing, attending ball games and visiting their neighbors. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends throughout the years. Many friendship bonds were formed through the years in her church, Bible studies and card playing. Attending the Senior Center dances were also special to her.

On October 25, 1970 she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph following an illness from a brain tumor. Eva began working in the kitchen at Methodist Memorial Homes in Holdrege in 1971, where she was employed until June of 1973. She moved from the farm near Ragan into Holdrege in 1972.

On June 30, 1973 she was united in marriage to Lester Schepler at the Ragan United Methodist Church. They made their home in Holdrege and enjoyed winters in Texas with their fifth wheel camper. Lester passed away of a sudden heart attack on June 11, 1976. Eva remained in their home in Holdrege until moving to a duplex in August of 1996.

Eva had a triple bypass surgery on February 16, 2001. She began to lose her eyesight that summer, due to swelling behind the optic nerve. In August of 2001 she chose to move to assisted living at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. In March of 2007 she moved to the Health Care Unit, where she resided until her death.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: John Kramer and his wife, Evelene of Lincoln, Nebraska, Nadine Winz and her husband, Ray of rural Holdrege and Roger Kramer and his wife, Connie of Malcolm, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Jeff Kramer and his wife, Barbara of Lincoln, Nebraska, Joann Amador and her husband, Mark of Maricopa, Arizona, Becky Grosserode and her husband, David of Omaha, Nebraska, Douglas Winz of rural Holdrege, Steven Winz and his wife, Renee of rural Holdrege, Jill Sagehorn and her husband, Douglas of Wichita, Kansas, Heath Kramer and his wife, Ann of Lincoln; eleven great-grandchildren: Brittany and Jordan Kramer, Heather and Allison Grosserode, Michael, Gregory and Garrett Winz, Sydney and Trevor Sagehorn, Chandler and Noah Kramer; one sister, Mary Beahm of Minden, Nebraska; step-children: Virginia Packett and her husband, Marion of Lincoln, Lloyd Schepler and his wife, Nancy of Holdrege, Richard Schepler and his wife, Pat of Wilcox, and Cora Kriley and her husband, Carl of San Angelo, Texas; 10 step grandchildren; 29 step great-grandchildren, 6 step great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Besides her husbands she was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Phillip Michael Winz; brothers: James Norman and his wife, Dora, Willis Norman and his wife, Evelyn, Virgil Norman, Delmer Norman and his wife, Lela and George Roger Norman and his wife, Luella and Earl Norman in infancy and brother-in-law, Merle Beahm.
