Hubert E. Nickels
Hubert Earl NICKELS, 80, Beech Grove, died Friday at his home there after a long illness.
A native of Fulton County, he was born Nov. 30, 1902, the son of Willard and Minnie ROUCH NICKELS and had lived in the Beech Grove community 53 years. His marriage was to Mary BECKER, who died March 29, 1983.
Mr. Nickels had been associated 36 years with the Beech Grove school system as teacher, vice principal and director of guidance. He was a member of the Beech Grove United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Lions Club and was a graduate of Indiana State and Indiana Universities.
Surviving are two daughters, Maryruth NICKELS, Beech Grove, and Marjorie McCAFFREY, Lafayette.
Last rites will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Beech Grove United Methodist church. Graveside rites will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the Little and Sons funeral home in Beech Grove from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday.
