Arthur J Penfold was born on November 7, 1892, in Hudson, South Dakota, his father, Rufus Cyrus, was 38 and his mother, Victoria Marie (Michael) Penfold, was 30. Arthur was the middle child of 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He dropped out of school after the 5th grade. Arthur married Mabel M. Williams on July 19, 1915, in Colorado and was divorced by 1917. After the divorce, on 6 September of 1918 Arthur Enlisted in the U. S. Army as Medical Driver and was discharged on 1 April 1919. On 14 August of the same year, he married Lillian M Peterson in Greeley, Colorado, and they had one son together during their marriage. His Occupation per 1930 Census was a Farmer, Employer renting his farm, as of the 1940 Census Arthur owned his own farm and was the employer. Arthur died on October 12, 1977, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, at the age of 84, and was buried there in Riverside Cemetery.
