Vida L. James, 83, a longtime North Central Washington resident died at her home in Wenatchee on Saturday.
She was born Jan. 24, 1900, at The Dalles, Ore., and moved to Toppenish and attended school at Tacoma. She moved to Wenatchee in 1918 and married Dale James Jan. 15, 1920, at Monitor. They operated a fruit ranch and retired in 1965, moving to Wenatchee. Mr. James died in 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Horton, Monitor, and Jackie Snyder, Wenatchee; two sisters, Betty James, Minnetonka Beach, Minn., and Lottie Walker, Granger; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren ; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son in 1978.
Funeral services were held this morning in the Braun Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Bailey officiating. Suzanne MacPherson sang "Rock of Age and "The Lords Prayer". Burial took place in the Cashmere Cemetery with pallbearers Terry Snyder, Gerry Snyder, Mike Snyder, James Horton, Ron Johnson and Brian Snyder. The Braun Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
