Theodore Atkinson married (2) soon after 21 Oct 1667, Mary (Wheelwright) Lyde, daughter of Rev. JOHN WHEELWRIGHT & widow of Edward Lyde. On 21 Oct 1667, Theoder Attkinson Senior of Boston ... merchant or feltmaker sendeth greeting that whereas their is a contract of marriage between me the said Atkinson & Mrs. Mary Lyde widow ... to the intent therefore that my said intended wife may not be left destitute in case of my decease" she is to have "a warehouse ... in Boston near adjoining unto Mr. Peter Oliver's ground together with a certain small tract of land lying & being between the aforesaid warehouse & Mr. Peter Oliver's land the said house & land in value being worth about two hundred & fifty pounds." On 4 Jan 1711/2 at Boston occurred "the funeral of Mrs. M. Atkinson, born in New England, aged 73 years, buried in a tomb in the New-burying place, from her son, Mr. Lyde's house."
