RESIDENT OF ALDA DIES TODAY
Mrs. Georgia Mason, wife of Edgar Mason, died early this morning in a local hospital. She had been in ill health for the last eight years. The family home is in Alda.
Arrangements for the funeral await word from children at a distance and will be announced later by the Livington-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mason was born Dec. 21, 1895, at Sargent to James and Alvira [Elvira] Orvis. She received her schooling at Sargent.
Mr. and Mrs. Mason were married July 3, 1910 at Taylor. They began their home on a farm eight miles northwest of Sarget. In 1919 they went to Watson, MO., where they lived the next nine years. Then they returned to Nebraska and farned in the vicinity of Nebraska City, Table Rock, Sargent and Kearney. In 1951 they came to Grand Island and Mr. Mason took employment at the ordinance plant. Mr. Mason retired four years ago. In October of last year, Mr. and Mrs. Mason moved to Alda.
Mrs. Mason was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Albert of Kearney, Harold of Omaha, Robert of McAllister, Okla., and James of Loomis; four daughters, Miss Violet Mason, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Ralph Bandhurst [Brandhurst], New Orleans, La., Miss Eva Mason, Omaha, and Mrs. Wayne Ellingson, Kearney; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Benedict, Watson, Mo., 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant children and a half-sister, Mrs. Viola Schmidts.
