Born by about 1602, based on estimates. Came to Massachusetts Bay with others from the Dorchester England church of Dorset shire. The Dorchester group settled first near Boston to the area now known as Dorchester MA. However, nearly all of this group removed to Windsor CT. Ships that came to Dorchester and Windsor include the "Mary & John" and the "Recovery". He may be the "Thomas Biscomb" listed on the Recovery passenger list. Thomas with probably his wife and first daughter, moved to Windsor CT in 1639. The Windsor records show baptisms of three children and the death of one other child. Thomas and his family were among the first settlers of the town of Northampton MA in 1654 or 1655. Thomas Bascom died in Northampton 9 May 1682, per the estate inventory record.
Thomas married circa 1630, Avis ____. The records read "...wife of Thomas Bascombe Senior," died at Northampton 3 Feb 1676.
Records indicate Thomas was buried in Northampton MA, but there is no record of a grave site.

His name is listed here on the Founders Memorial at Windsor, Connecticut, shown in the photos, in recognition of his having participated in the founding of that, the first colonial outpost in the Connecticut Valley, but he is not buried there.
